Reverb Stealth

I have 2 questions regarding this;
Firstly I assume it doesn't have an air valve like the standard reverb?
Secondly my new bike just arrived with one and when I sit on it to lower the saddle it will go smoothly through about 100mm of travel then has a notchy feeling and needs a good bump to go fully down. When returning to full height it is perfectly smooth.
I have a standard reverb on another bike and have had no such issues so I wasn't sure if it was a known issue/bedding in issue etc
