Does anyone know if it is necessary to swop rear wheel scewer for turbo-trainer provided scewer when using said t-t ?

  • It's not necessary.
Some Q-R skewers however don't have the rounded ends and therefore won't fit into the Turbo mounts. Also if you had really good quality skewers you might not want to fit these onto the Turbo as they will ultimately get scratched.
But if your current skewers fit and your not worried about gettign them scratched it's no problem using them.....

A tacx skewer that is compatible with turbo trainers is only £11.. and it will fit much better and more securely than an exposed cam-skewer which you'll typically find on most bikes.
