Bike Fit and Clipless Pedals

I have been contemplating clipless pedals for a few weeks after getting a road bike. I eventually bit the bullet and bought some yesterday and having also had a bike fit at the same time I can't believe the difference it has made. I can understand why everyone says they are such an improvement. The thing that surprised me the most was clipping in and out of the pedals was very easy, but I have purchased mtb pedals for greater ease.
I would recommend them to anyone who is thinking of getting them, they really do help especially on hills.
However, you do need to keep your concentration when stopping as you can make an idiot of yourself as I nearly did when I forgot to clip out! Thankfully as I was falling my foot un-clipped itself and I just about regained my dignity, at least I didn't end up in a heap on the floor!
A bike fit is also recommended, if anyone needs a decent bike shop with great help and advice in the Gloucester area, go to Eastgate Cycles!
