Lights with fricken lasers

Saw on eBay some rear lights that use lasers to put down light onto the road like rail lines outside of the area of the bike. Thoughts? Worth the outlay or gadget nonsense ?

Unless they work like shields I'd be more worried about distracting drivers. Hands follow eyes when driving so if the drivers staring at your laser patterns on the ground the risk would be to drive up your backside.....
Now a personal defence laser to vaporise offending drivers has possible benefits0 -
Have a looksee at this

There's a bit in there about the laser lights0 -
I bought some last winter, I reckon they were pretty effective as they give out an unusual light so gets a bit more attention. Trouble is they were shoddily made and only lasted three rides (none of those wet) before it broke. Ordered the alternative model now to give it a second try but not holding out much hope - would be nice if a decent light company did one rather than the generic Chinese efforts that are about the same quality as stuff you find in a Christmas cracker0

I bought one from Torchy, wasn't that impressed by the strength of the lasers tbh - and then it stopped working after one ride.0

I think the main criticism I've read about these is that the width of the beam isn't wide enough - it may give drivers the impression that a foot's room either side of the bike is enough to give when overtaking.
Would like to see it in the flesh though, nice idea0
