new free hub

Hi, I own a 2011 specialized pitch 9 speed, id like some advice on a new free hub please? what would you guys recommend upgrading to?

    you can not.

    you need the correct one for the hub.

    is this true of all hubs? What if you've got a non-name wheel or can't remember the hub you've got - are you screwed?
  • Depends how they are screwed on and what fitment it has. Yes the only way is to take it to a shop and let them take a look.

    no you take it to a shop and they might work out what fits.

    the only ones that are ok to work out are shimano. most shimano are interchangeable.
