The Good and the Bad

The good:
1. Tonight was my first ride of the winter with neoprene overshoes and neoprene gloves on - extremities were nice and warm when I got home.
2. First ride for 6 months on my second bike. Upgraded to carbon at the start of the summer and my old CAAD9 has languished in the garage every since. Thought I'd better give it some use and it was quite a nostalgic occasion!
The bad:
1. Forgot about that creaking bottom bracket! Sounded horrendously loud - anyone know a surefire way to fix this? LBS replaced some bits but it hasn't worked.
2. First day of Cheltenham's Race Festival (horses) - traffic was horrendous!
Beats sitting at home.

What type? if its an external I'd take it off, give it a clean and put it back on. If the bearing feel rough stick a new one in..0 -
Are you positive it is from the BB? A lot of creaks can sound like they are coming from down south, but actually come from elsewhere.0

Many years ago I had a creak which I thought was the bottom bracket (even fitted a new one) but it wasn't. In the end my creak turned out to be a slightly loose saddle clamp bolt. It's amazing how sounds "travel" through a bike frame. Another noise I had was due to the quick release on the rear wheel needing a tighter nip up. I thought the noise was from other parts of the bike!0
