Any tips for a rattling brake cable in a carbon frame?

Hi
I have a RT 57 from Planet X, and the damn brake cable rattles around in the frame. I have tried tightening it up, but over rough roads, it bangs and clatters around. It is driving me potty. There are no bungs or sleeves on the cable, it is just loose in the frame. Any ideas?

Assuming it is just a cable inner at the moment can you not fit a cable outer (albeit in the frame).Yellow is the new Black.0

It is the outer that is rattling around, and there is very little space, probably only 1mm gap in the frame....0

I do not know the answer but when you do find it I really would like to know so I can do it on my new Basso frameset which I am building up as I have not had internal cable routing before.Yellow is the new Black.0

I too have an RT-57 but definitely no rattle. I use Gore Ride On cables and the brake cable (outer) is plush in the frame entry and exit and probably less than 1mm clearance, so this may help. Also, I have made sure that the cable (and others) is not too long and not too short. Perhaps if you can show a photo of the cable running from lever to caliper this may give some clue to the problem?Giant XTC Pro-Carbon

Just wrap some sticky tape round the outer cable at the entry, middle and exit points to the frame to try and narrow down that 1mm gap in the frames tube.0

Spoke to Planet-X about this because I had the same problem with my RT-57. They recommended stuffing sponge down the top tube to dampen the rattle.
So I cut a healthy chunk off a standard car washing sponge, then used a modified coat hanger to stuff into the middle of the top tube. I haven't taken it for a ride yet but there's definitely a lot less cable movement so I'm sure it will be much better
Note: You can't get to the top tube by removing the seat post. You have to drop out the front forks and stuff the sponge in via the head tube.0
