Hi
I'm new to mountain biking, although a keen road cyclist with a Cannondale CAAD 10.
I want to buy a mountain bike upto £1000, but would prefer to spend a little less in order to get a jersey, shorts, helmet, etc....
Done a little research and the bike that seems to come up top for the cash is the Scott Aspect 910 2013 Mountain Bike at £850.
Is this a good choice, or are there better alternatives for a 29er hardtail?
Thanks for the advise.....
Mark

What about the Germans?
The fork on the Canyon linker to above is a mile better than the Scott (p.s. might help if you post a link to the Scott) but generally the Canyon will be a better spec than the Scott if you can put up with ordering direct.0 -
Wow, the Canyon is certainly a nice bike - and well spec'd for the price. Unfortunately my bike will be purchased through the cycle to work scheme so the fact it is direct from manufacturer means I won't be able to get on cycle to work. Shame because it is lovely.
The Scott I was looking at is this one http://www.scott-sports.com/global/en/p ... ect-910-s/
Is it a good buy for £850 or are the better bikes / brands on the market for the same price?
Thanks0 -
It's not too bad for the money - but bikes from Halfords, Decathlon and Ze Germans are significantly lighter and better specced.0
