Hi all,
I am seeking employment in the Southwest corner, preferably Somerset/Dorset/Devon/Cornwall.
My family and I want to relocate but feel i need employment before we just take the plunge!
I have been in the plumbing and heating industry for 21 years, merchant/supply side for 10 years, installation and maintenance for 11 years (domestic and commercial).
Looking for either sales or install/maintenance side of industry including multitrade, available for interviews at any given time, just a days notice required!
CAN ANYONE HELP/A HEADS UP ON VACANCIES??
Thanks for looking.

I already live in SW area and looking for job in sales/marketing and come from drainage / plumbing background. I would suggest that you check out the recruitment agencies that specialise in construction sales, there are quite few. However the best approach is to contact manufacturers directly, if you have been in the trade you will know who to contact, it is probably the best route for you. Think about all the components that you have used in your job when fitting ie; pipe (plastic/copper/stainless steel/ductile cast iron), pumps, fixings, valves etc etc. It will turn up quite a lot of info if you use Google.
BTW don't bother with the manufacturers of Hep2o as they just made me redundant and are not likely to recruitment for quite some time.
Hope this helps a bit.Always be yourself, unless you can be Aaron Rodgers....Then always be Aaron Rodgers.0 -
Cheers pal.
Been doing all the usual, find that a foot in the door from a source is normally the way, hence the ad on here!!
Good luck0 -
Another thing to think about is that a South West representative does generally have to cover South Wales. This then throws in the geographic location issue. I have come across plenty of companies that look for someone located near to Bristol area for the region. This is obvious in that Bristol is a major market and easy access over the bridge to S Wales, and then jaunt down M5 to Exeter / Plymouth. Fortunately or unfortunately dependent on who I apply to I live right on the Dorset/Hants border so am between the traditional SW and SE areas.
Another good source of info would be to check out attendees of exhibitions like PHEX which has just been held at Stamford Bridge, or even attend an exhibition. Just talking to people can throw up job opps. This is true.. my colleague went to Olympia to a building services exhibition and got talking to the MD of a specialist pipe manufacturer. Took his card and called him a week later. 2 weeks later they created a job for him and he starts in Jan with a great job and great package.Always be yourself, unless you can be Aaron Rodgers....Then always be Aaron Rodgers.0 -
