Fox float RP2 propedal lever loose?

OK so I recently bought my first FS bike. I've got a query about the FOX float RP2 shock. When switching from pro pedal to open I feel a definite resistance as the lever moves across. However when it's in the open position the lever moves with the very slightest touch. After a couple of compressions of the shock when riding though the lever stiffens up. Should this happen?
Also am i correct in thinking the pro pedal setting still offers some degree of bump compliance.

I think I'm losing the plot. Been out and had a proper look. Once moved from the pro pedal position past the initial resistance it swings across to the open side. There is only a tiny amount of play in the lever and you have to physically move it back to pro pedal. I will try and post a video to show you but i think the panic is over :oops:0

I'd just got back from a blast round the local trails and had washed all the mud and stuff off!! You are right about the video though. Very dodgy camera work. Anyway my mind is at rest now and thanks for your help
