Hello I'm sure this is a common problem but quite often my brake pads are rubbing on the rotor how do I go about fixing this? Am I doing something wrong with the bike?

  • Probably not. What brakes?
  • There Clarks Skelton the re-designed all black ones I herd there not very good
  • If it only rubs at one or two places on the make sure the rotors are not buckled. That can cause the pads to rub. It's can be possible to fix buckled rotors with a bit of time. I'm sure Park will give some hints.

If it rubs all of the time, check the calliper is centred on the rotor.

It could be an issue with the pistons not returning properly into the calliper. Make sure both pistons are moving freely.

Nope, no help. Use them they'll adjust. Or move them apart a bit with a screwdriver.

  • Thanks is it best just to take the wheels off?? I might even just take it back to the lbs as I got a year warranty on it let them sort it but this will be the 3rd time in 4 months I've had to take it back because of brakes it's getting annoying what do you think?

Sure the pads are rubbing and not some spurious muck you got in there when riding?

This... though make sure you use a large flat headed screwdriver or another flat implement so you do not gouge your pads.

If you push them in you should be able to see daylight between pads and rotor - check it's even, and adjust the alignment if not... then go use and they should self-adjust.
