Just taken delivery of my new bike & need a pair of bottle cages. Not bought any of these in years. My last pair were from Superstar components but, they don't seem to sell the one I have any more. So can anyone recommend some nice cages? Don't want to spend mega money btw.
Thanks for any help.

Elite bottle cages, fairly cheap, easy to use and good enough for the pro peloton.0 -
+1 for Elite cages, I put these on my wifes Peloton, great bottle retention and easy release too.
I'm ashamed to say that I put Zipp carbon cages on mine, crazy money, don't perform any better than the Elite, but look bloody good.Ridley Orion0 -
+1 for the Elite bottle cages mentioned above, not too dear and work very well. The best cages I've had.0

Planet-X have decent carbon cages for £30 a pair:

A fiver more in matt finish, for some reason.0 -
I have fancy looking Campag Record cages - look great but aren't brill at holding the bottles in place when there is much in the way of road buzz. I have found that the Spesh S Works cages don't look quite as good but do the job much better.

+1 for the Tao. Good enough for TdF riders is good enough for me. Cheap, light and they work.0

Not sure about the colour but looks pretty good and very cheap - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... delID=5650'Happiness serves hardly any other purpose than to make unhappiness possible' Marcel Proust.0

+2 for the Tacx Tao, it's all you need imo, haven't found a bottle that is loose so far.0

+3 for the Tacx Tao. It's a design classic.0

I have the carbon version (v expensive but look the dogs) But the design of the cheaper version is the same so I guess it works the same - the only bottle cage I have ever bought (and I have bought a few) that hols bottle securly but at the same time releases it easily to use the bottle - really the best I have ever owned by a long way.0 -

Thanks chaps. Seems likes the Elites & Taxc Tao are pretty popular but, I do like the look of these.. Planet-X cages.
Also like the look of these Reynolds cages, bit spendy but they look good..

Arundel Mandible always tops the list of money no object cages.
I've picked up cheap carbon ones and they've always done the job. Those and Tacx Taos for me. Avoid the dirt cheap lifeline ones - I had one snap on me at the start of a sportive and had to find room in my back pocket for a bottle for the next 90 miles...http://www.georgesfoundation.org

Go to Tescos and get their plastic ones that are about £3 each. Perfect.0

I've got Tacx Tao on my Condor, and Elite Custom on my Rourke. The good thing about the Elite is that they won't scruff up the bottle as much, and they take the enormous 1 litre SIS bottles (whih are a bit wider than standard bottles).WyndyMilla Massive Attack | Rourke 953 | Condor Italia 531 Pro | Boardman CX Pro | DT Swiss RR440 Tubeless Wheels

What he said. Bottles are easy to get in and out but don't rattle loose, and as drlodge said your bottles don't get scuffed.Boardman CX Team0
