hi
ive just ordered a planet x bike but im a bit concerned as i have just read a review which said a guy had to totally rebuild his bike when it arrived.
i have been told that (as usual) the bike would be 99% built and i would just have to straighten the bars and put the pedals on but this guy seems to have had a mare when his bike arrived.
anyone bought a planet x that can assure me my bike will be working fine when it arrives, please

Chances are it will be fine and almost ready to ride after you check it. As you say, handlebars, pedals and saddle plus adjustment to suit your height/reach etc.
There will be the occasional bike which slips through their quality checks and there will be the rider who is sufficiently OCD and anal that he strips and rebuilds a new bike just because. Then there will be the rider who gets a bike which will work but who will find a loose nut and exaggerate how much work he had to do to make it rideable.0 -

I'm sure if you drop them an email with your worries they will be more than happy to point you right with a list of bits and bobs to check and how to go about it.
Generally its pedals, handlebars, saddle + adjustments + wheels.0 -
My PX arrived a few weeks ago and was exactly as described - just handlebars and pedals to sort out., the rest of the bike was perfectly put together, gears/brakes all set up correctly.
I personally found PX's customer service to be excellent from the moment I ordered it to when the bike arrived.0 -
I've had two bikes off them and my mates have had more. No problems at all. They build them well.0

bike arrived yesterday, all i had to do was put the wheels , seat post, bars, and pedals on but then had to attach the rear deralliar which took 15 mins of looking trying different allen keys and head scratching before the light bulb came on and i realised what i had to do and 30 seconds later she was ready to ride.
one happy customer here, unfortunatly its pooring here on the iow so another run today, the bike will have to wait until tomoz0
