Torn between the Boardman Team Carbon and the Boardman Team Carbon Pro

Obviously the spec for the pro is better but it's £300 more, wondering if anyone has experience with these bikes or can give any opinion on whether it's worth the extra cash for Pro!

The Pro is apparently more aggressive and harsher.. so it might not be ideal if you just want it as a sportive machine for example.

No real experience of them...but if you're after a compact rather than a standard double, then it'll be more money to change the chainset on the Pro which is a 50/39 rather than the compact 50/34 on the Team.

Also as said above, if the geometry of the pro doesn't suit, that'll point to the other one as well

Its a standard double 53/39. Unless your are really unfit or climbing really steep hills you could just swap out for a 11-28 cassette. One thing to note, the colour of the Pro looks far worse in the flesh.

I was a little worried about the standard double as I head to the Alps/Pyrenees in the summer...
I am used to a triple, although I never use all of the gears.

You mention the 11-28, does that make much of a difference? I am quite fit and have tackled many HC climbs in the past...should I be able to cope with standard double with 11-28?

Other than the climbs, I am keen on the double as I do Triathlons, so useful there!

On the colour issue..I don't mind it too much, although I would be tempted to remove decals...not sure if that's possible..

What do you go up hills with now. If its 34/25 then 39/28 is slightly harder.

I've got both; as mentioned the Pro is stiffer and and a slightly racier geometry. Other than the steepest of hills the standard is fine and you can swap the cassette out. The Team is a really nice bike and a little less harsh over longer distances, other than the groupset differences you wouldn't be losing out with this one over the Pro TBH. Oh, and I really like the metallic blue personally!

I popped to my local Halfords last night and they had the AiR Pro on display...it's a beauty!
I aired my concerns about the double to the mechanic and he mentioned the possibility of swapping the cassette for a SRAM MTB one if needs be! Will this (or using 11-28 ultegra) do anything funny to the gears or reduce performance?

I wonder if Halfords will be discounting these near Christmas? They did 2 years ago and I delayed on a Pro that was £600 off. I missed out then
