Fireworks

Whilst it's still fresh in everyone's memories, did you notice how crap fireworks were this year?
I'm not talking about the big organised displays, but the ones that you can buy yourself. I found that I was the victim of inflated packaging on many occasions; small fireworks with a massive amount of extra box around them to make them look bigger.
The problem is that you often have to buy from a display, and the shop keeper then fetches your order, so it's not easy to notice that you're not getting 'the full powder keg'. Next year, I'll be looking out for this.

The older I get, the better I was.

ban the private sale of fireworks - they are a menace - limit to public displays only,http://veloviewer.com/SigImage.php?a=3370a&r=3&c=5&u=M&g=p&f=abcdefghij&z=a.png

To whom, and based on what evidence (other than your opinion)?0 -
Totally agree. Some really poor offerings in the display at Chez Tino this year.
That said, we did have some bl**dy loud ones as well!0 -

Sad and bloody cruel - only thing is, that' s like the gun law argument, not the weapon, but, the user. If it wasn't firework it would be something else!0

To me, based on the fcukwit of a neighbour of mine a few years back who lit them on the green in front of our houses rather than in his own garden.
The debris from them fell onto my drive/car/me my kids, showering all of us with sparks and embers, singing our hair.
When challenged, the response "it's firework night, innit?"
Twunt par excellence.
Ban them from everyone bar displays who should employ professionals and have the relevant H&S check and liability insurance. Fecking sick of the 3 week bang/flash fest either side of 5/11.
I accept plenty of people act responsibly, but there is a decent percentage of knuckle draggers let loose with them...
Besides all of that, you'd be better paying 15-20 quid to take the family to a proper display than wasting money on 'display grade' fireworks at home.0 -
Makes perfectly good sense. Not sure what the guy who organised the local professional display at the rugby club - now being charged with manslaughter for the M5 crash, would think?0

Based on what evidence - try this "Terrified dogs ripped out their claws in fear after a large fireworks display took place near an animal rescue centre ...witnesses observed partygoers holding on to rockets deliberately until the last minute so that they exploded seconds after release, causing louder blasts."

Ours didnt seem too bad - but some of the buggers made huge explosions. I'd not be sorry if they were banned - keep them to organised displays seems sensible.0

It was also on our local ITV news including interviews with the Brimingham Dogs Home staff who saw youths in the car park holding on to rockets until the last second to make as much noise as possible.Summer - Canyon Ultimate CF SLX 9.0 Team
