Merino 150 or 190

I've been looking at Wiggle's Dhb Merino ls base layers and they come in 150 or 190gsm.
Can anyone give me an idea of how much warmer the 190 is?
I already have the 150 and I've worn it under a ls wind proof jersey/jacket at 5 degrees and it's been fine but estimate that at 3 degrees with wind chill it might hit the limit and become a little chilly.

I have both... difficult to say how much warmer it is... a little, not a lot... if you are freezing to death with the 150, you won't be OK with the 190, to give you an idea.
Last sunday I was out early... around 1-2 degrees air temperature for the first 2 hours... I had the 190, an Assos 851 jacket and a Balaclava and I was fine.
Around Box Hill it was full of hypothermic imbecils in summer gear... speechless... :shock:left the forum March 20230 -
I have all different weights of merino. I regularly sport 150, but have worn 200 with just a softshell and felt too hot. I feel that unless you're at freezing or below 150 does just fine.English Cycles V3 | Cervelo P5 | Cervelo T4 | Trek Domane Koppenberg0
