gt avalanche 1.0 or voodoo hoodoo opinions please

On the look for hardtail budget about £500,the gt is on offer at wiggle for £479 and the voodoo on offer at halfords for £500 minus £40 web discount ,having never ridden either just wandering what you guys would think would be the better bike the more i look the more confused i,m getting cheers kev.

ive said it before to others and il say it again
if you go for the voodoo as they are halfords only, if you join british cycling on the basic 1 year membership costing about £12 you can get 10% off any bike at halfords even stuff thats in the sale. so you would save almost £50 on a voodoo
the money you save will get you a good helmet or camelbak or bike tools0 -
My nephew has the latest GT Avalanche 1.0 and whilst it's a great little bike, it's also a bit on the heavy side. I can't speak for the Voodoo Hoodoo directly but I've seen it get good reviews all over the place.
If I was buying now I'd probably go for the Voodoo.0 -

Drive train is better on the GT but I would say the fork on the hoodoo is better and I would rather have a better fork.0
