  • Whatever you go for, you ll need to get brake pad holders/shoes as Tiagra are one peice - if you ve the original pads?
I like Swisstop GHPs, maybe less rim wear but far better wet weather braking.
  • Probably of little help but I bought some £4.99 shoes from Ebay, they are a bit better than the original ones supplied with the callipers but still pretty ropey. I guess you get what you pay for.
  • I went for Swissstop green (alloy wheel rim) to replace the standard tektro.

The Tektro pads were naff in my opinion.

I recommend the Swissstop. Although if, as Lookyhere has said, you need the holders then expect to pay between £40 to £50

Step one is to get some pad holders. The cheapo ones I tried were useless (rusted), so I'd recommend getting some of the Ultegra ones at around £12 per pair. (eg. http://www.evanscycles.com/products/shi ... r-ec041613) They have better pads too.

You can then swap to better pads like Koolstop etc.
