Has anybody any experiences/comments on the above jacket? Specifically on fit and weather anybody knows if it's considerably warmer than the Oxygen SO Jacket, which I already have.

Comments

  • It's certainly considerably warmer!

It's also slightly bigger, I had a large which was a bit bigger than a large Oxygen. But not a size up/down if you follow.

Thanks Bender. I understand that it's more of a MTB Jacket. Does it ride up your back in a road bike position?
  • No, in fact it was quite roadie as I recall, certainly more than the Cosmo which was very large!

I have 3 of these jackets. First one I bought in 2008/9ish and the other two I bought about 6 weeks ago. The older jacket is a snugger fit, the newest ones are a bit more generous. I wear a large, and the newest ones are a bit baggy, but not a real problem.

But, they are fantastic jackets, which is why I have 3 of them. The zip under the arms is very effective, especially if you take the front zip down a bit, you get good airflow though and it cools you down fairly well. My favourite feature, in common with a lot of Gore Bike Wear. is the 'napolean pocket' on the chest, dead handy for your mobile and change.

I only wear mine when it gets below 10C, and they're easily warm enough with a base layer down to minus 5.

PS - The 2 latest ones I got from http://royles.biz for £48 each, might be worth checking up on.

Pah!! They've none left, thanks for the tip though and the advice. Looks like It's just the ticket. Might risk a small. I have a medium Oxygen SO and although it's fine around the shoulders, it's a bit too long in the sleeves and overall length. Know of any other bargains?

Actually, yes. Check out blue door bikes, I just happened across their sample sale of MOA gear today, amazing prices.

Not a bad word so far! It's a replacement for an assos 851, that I've just sold for the simple reason that I've gone off assos.
