It's not about length, it's about their capacity or range. Rule of thumb. Single ring front, short. 2, medium. Triple, long0

The range will be specified on the tech docs/site. Range is (number of teeth big ring-small ring) + (big cog-small cog)
So as long as it has a greater range it will work.I don't do smileys.
