Does anyone use a Helmet mirror? What are you're views on them?
I'm thinking of getting one because the road i use is busy and thought adding one of these will help in saftey.

The view in a helmet mirror is usually what's behind you.
A big chunk of glass near your face comes loose and gets embedded in your face just before your helmet does it's job.
If you are really too lazy or injured to do a lifesaver check before pulling out and must use a mirror get one mounted on the down tube.I used to just ride my bike to work but now I find myself going out looking for bigger and bigger hills.0 -
I think there is a difference between using a mirror to assess what's bearing down on you and being too lazy to do a lifesaver. I would imagine that everyone on here who uses a car makes use of the mirror facility and would feel uncomfortable driving without one. I have ridden motorbikes for many years and could not get used to the feeling of riding a pushbike without one. I obviously still make lifesavers as required.
Having said that, I have tried a helmet mirror and could not get on with it at all. Too wobbly, too small. And that's just me. The mirror was even worse. Bar end mounted was the way for me.0 -
Still have the helmet mirror if the op wants it.
It is rubbish but this way you won't waste cash on it like I did.0 -
