Hi all, I would really appreciate it if you could take a minute to fill out a survey that'll form part of my MDes research.

It's about transport so you can think about bikes!

sorry to say I gave up filling it in. Private v public transport - so the bike is lumped in with the car. Main use for the car is that it is handy for carrying things like the weekly family shopping and offers protection from the weather - not choices in the survey.0

Answered it, but not sure my answers are particularly useful as there was no way of expressing views on public transport. Round here, public transport is designed to get people in and out of London. If that's what you're doing, it works fine (if you disregard to cost), but if not then it effectively doesn't exist. Given that I avoid London at all costs, none of my regular journies are covered by public transport so it's just not an option.
I also think the "if public transport was just as good as private transport" question is a bit dubious as it implies that it's realistic to think it could be for all respondants. Clearly this isn't the case, and neither should it be. The resources required to produce a public transport system that competed effectively with private transport in terms of convenience and door-to-door times (ie. the only ones that matter) and offered this service to all users would be beyond the means of any society with current (or, for that matter, forseable) technology.Mangeur0
