Those Shimano outers are they the Xtr variant ? After light but not comprise in shifting
  • Eh?

They are xtr. How do you mean light. In action or weight?

Shifters need to shift - the only consideration is how well.

    Weight buddy,

  • Weight doesn't really come into it.

Function/cost = value The winner there is what cooldad says.

Now I remember. The weight weenie who just weighs and buys, doesn't actually ride.
And for that reason, I'm out.

You must be desperate to save a few grammes if your considering the weight of gear cables. You would save more weight by picking your nose and/or arse before a ride. Have you considered filling your tyres with helium or even better, hydrogen?

My last build was weight orientated..

However I'm very happy with the weight of the Epic, just after upgrading the standard cables tbh

Power Cordz are good, you need to take some time to fit them right, but they do give a lovely light shift when you do it.

I ran mine with I-Links outers, which were good, better than Nokon. They now do Mini I-Links which are lighter too.

Have you got any pics of your set up if still running these ? Also are in your opinion worth the upgrade.
As I ain't seen many peeps running the set up.

Heard issues with the cables fraying or peeps incorrectly installing them may be

I looked at the I links would need extra as my cable routes are around the bb area

I run Nokon's on the road, and very happy with them, so these I-Links must be bloody good...

I-links actually click together, unlike Nokons, so they're far easier to install. They're a lot lighter too. Not got any pics with the Power Cordz, not using them at the moment, got a fresh set to fit though, probably wait until spring.

    (bad) pic of I-links outer:

  • I'd go for these!! As they don't seem to be making the SRAM full metal jacket kits I have used for a while now!!!

Goodridge cables & hoses are a waste of money, I have them on my hardtail because they looked nice but there is no benefit to using them.

Probably ideal for the OP then as he doesn't actually ride.

Many of the sealed kits are heavy too, so it does depend exactly what you're looking to achieve. PowerCordz are insanely light, and if you combine with something like I-Links they're sealed too.

Cheers guys looking into I link outers, and power cordz cable,

Looking for the best source to buy them.

Njee does the cordz come with a adaptor to prevent the cable from splitting or a different torque setting.
