Having been on the road for over 8 years I want to try off road and have some fun.
Whist I am new I don't want to spend more money upgrading at a later date, I mainly want to do XC and dirt tracks etc, ie light stuff no dare delvel stuff here!
No knowing much about MTB's do I just need a hard tail, and not full suspension? Also is a 29nr better for my use.
My budget is about £1000, not too bothered about having a 2013 if I could get a bargain on older bike.
Thanks
Ian

A 29er may or may not be better, only testing will find that out. A bad bike is a bad bike regardless.
Though generally at this price a 26 hardtail will be better equipped and lighter than anything else.
I would look at the Boardman Pro. See how it is for size.0 -
I bought a Boardman Team FS - £1000. Best bang for buck you'll get with all the kit on it. Comfiest bike I've ever ridden although it is my first FS bike, buy it, you won't regret it. 8)0
