Campag 11 Speed Chain
Hi all,
I ride with Athena 11 speed groupset. I will have to change the chain eventually due to wear...... the campag chain tool seems to be really expensive! Will any other chain work? I like the idea of being able to fix a broken chain on the go, can you carry spare links for a campag 11spd chain and fix without the really expensive tool?
Thanks.

KMC do 11x chains and 11x quick links. The ridiculously expensive tool has a means of finishing Campags rivet tidily on fitting. Quick link is the way forward IMHONeil

Here's a potential cheaper option on the tool front:
Park Tool are bringing out a new chain tool that combines the normal rivet insertion/ extraction with the peening over of the pin that is needed on these 11 speed chains. It's called the CT-4.3 and is released in January 2013.

Previously you have needed a chain tool and their special peening over tool (CT-11).
If the current CT4.2 tool is anything to go by, the price will be around £50.
If you already have a decent chain tool you could just get the CT-11 which is currently selling for £34 (http://s383075164.e-shop.info/shop/arti ... ml?pse=coa)"The Flying Scot"

Lezyne have had a very good compact 11-speed chain tool out for some time. You can pick it up for £19 @ Chain Reaction at the moment. It removes the old pin and peens the new one. Here's a review:

My Lezyne Chain Drive tool has just come in the post today funnily enough, from CRC too.
About to do my first campag chain install when the rest of the kit arrives.
It looks a well made and designed bit of kit.Insta: ATEnduranceCoaching
