help with deore M596 hose cutting

Hello all. I can't seem to get a straight answer on if I cut the hose on these will I need to bleed?
Found a post that suggests I could cut then just pump the handle. Anyone got these and offer help?

maybe. maybe not. some people can do it with out some can not. have you read the manual it give a guide how to shorten the hose and change the ends.

go buy a bleed kit.' you will need it some time.

Sheet that comes with it doesn't even mention shortening the hoses
