SRAM XX chainring compatibilitibility

Can the SRAM chainrings that fit on the spider be taken off the spider and be fitted onto a one piece SRAM crank? (the rings do look very similar to my untrained eye)

The spider I refer to is this:

    And yes they can.

    Stupidly the 'S-Works spider and rings' is about £5 more than the big ring alone (as you've possibly noticed too?), I bought that and took the rings off.

    This is 120 BCD and will fit straight onto a one piece Sram XX crank.

    indeed - buying 2 rings and spider work out aboout the same as price of the big ring.

    Yep, daft innit. They fit.
