As my Dutchie got a bit bent yesterday I need a new bike.
It will be used for going to work (2.5mile each way) popping to the shops, going to see mates etc.
Sub £500.
Will need to be able to fit racks and mudguards (bonus points if they come fitted).
Not too heavy.
Other than that I'm open to all ideas.

Cleethorpes, eh?
2.5 miles each way, less than £500, racks and mudguards fitted, integrated front and rear lights, open to all ideas. Hmmmm....
Get a train down to London, mug a tourist and ride off with with their steed. A little bit of spray paint and it will be barely recognisable. It may be too heavy for your needs.FCN 3: Raleigh Record Ace fixie-to be resurrected sometime in the future

Could work. What would you say would be a realistic time to ride one from London to Cleethorpes?0

genesis day 01 or similar? my comute is only slightly longer, and singlespeed is a nice low maintenance solution.0

Some good suggestions there.
Any opinions on this - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/charge-plug-3x-2013/ ?
I've got an old Pug frame in the shed too. Not sure if that would work out cheaper to build up as a commuter.
ETA, I quite like the look of this too - http://www.evanscycles.com/products/glo ... 6#features0 -
Right, if no one recommends me anything else I'm going to buy that funny Specialized, even though I'm too snobby to tell people I ride a Specialized.0
