North Wales trail conditions?

I'm heading north to Anglesey on Thursday and it would be rude not to stop off somewhere en route. I'm fairly unrestricted but am thinking Penmachno, Marin or maybe Llandegla. I haven't ruled out CYB either but that will add more travelling time than the others. What are the current conditions in the area with all the rain we've had and which stands up to the weather the best? Also, if it's bad weather on the day, which is the least exposed? I've done Penmachno before in the summer and though then I wouldn't fancy coming off there in the middle of winter!

Any advice would be much appreciated. :)

  • All the north wales trails ride pretty well all year round.

Was at Penmachno a week ago and as usual it was wet on the trails but then it always is.
Penmachno's not fun if the wind and rain get going too much.

Marin trail was riding well a couple of weeks ago and as its mostly in the trees its a good bet if weather turns nasty.

Llandegla can be ridden in just about any weather (including snow which was on the ground over this weekend)

Thanks papertech, much appreciated. I'll see how it's looking on Thursday and probably head for either the Marin if rough and Penmachno if ok. 8)
