So who floats your boat? Who makes Pro Cycling a great sport to watch?

Leaving aside the fairly obvious choices; I have always had a soft spot for Amets Txurruka. there was a period when every time there was a early attack in a mountain stage Txurruka would be there.
Doomed to failure everytime but still went for it.0 -

Fabs, Boonen, Cav, Voigt, Wiggo, Geraint T, D Millar, De Gendt, Purito, Eddy Boss, Henao and Uran0
-
Sagan
First TDF, wins 3 stages and the Green Jersey and the kids comes to the start line with a bell fitted to his bike.
I mean seriously, what's not to love?Sean Kelly wrote:Now *that's* a racer“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0 -
Nordhaug, EBH, Cam Meyer, Matt Hayman, Kiryienka, Brett Lancaster,+ lots of (but not all) Brits.0
-

I've always liked Andy Schleck.
Can't help it.0 -
Butt if I see either Boonen or Cancellara on the start list I'll try and make a good effort to watch.
Cancellara especially. He can totally shape and change a race totally on his own. He's phenomenal. And not just that, his lack of a pure top sprint also means he really animates the race to try and work it his way.
Love it.0 -
Emma Pooley. Dead chuffed she's going to be riding next year.0

Not enough tension when hes in a race winning position.
You know which way it's going to go when he goes.0 -

Watch out for Joe Dombrowski next season, Turfle. Really excited about him joining the World Tour and seeing how he develops - as much as with JTL.0 -

You could say the same for Cancellara.0 -

Wasn't like that at M-SR, or GW etc etc.0 -

I guess so. Difference is he'll shape the race earlier on. Sagan doesn't do that (yet).0 -
Bassons and any other riders who didn't dope - sadly not many of them.0
-
Dan Martin, Peter Sagan, Lars Boom, Gilbert, Chavanel. It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.0
-
Jens and Johnny Hoogerland!0
-
Millar, Boonen, Hesjedal, The Hoog and, of course, Gibo."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

To be honest - any rider with a personality. Even one with bad personality i find myself grudgingly respecting
The Schlecks because they re the Tim Henman/Greg Rudeski (sp?) of cycling. They are the Cyclists the British public deserve! We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

I would be happier to see her in some UCI races too.BASI Nordic Ski Instructor

Cancellara, for his general awesomeness and massive quads, but also for that point in the TdF a couple of years ago (possibly leading Schleck at the bottom of the Tourmalet in 2010) where he pulled off the front having done an epic turn, and you could just see him disappearing into the background, barely able to turn the cranks as he had buried himself so deep. oh and also for his epic defence of the yellow jersey this year on that hilly stage (the one Froome won?)
yeah OK my memory's a bit sketchy!
for the same reasons I also like Daniel Navarro and Ian Stannard - unsung heroes0 -
