Specialized Langster size/geometry question

Can anyone confirm how Specialized measure their bikes? I am trying to work out if my 2007 Langster is 52cm or 54cm (I bought it second hand). The seat tube measures 50cm from centre of BB to top of seat tube and actual length of top tube is approx 53.5cm.

Cheers

their website will have that info
  • Hi,
Don't have a Specialised and did not have any luck with Spec'd official site. The sizes you quote appear to be on the small side as they are exactly the same as my BMC 49cm, sorry I know thats not really of any help to you

  • The Specialized web site says that 54cm Langster has seat tube length of 500mm and top tube length of 548mm. 52cm has seat tube length of 480mm and top tube 537mm. Confused!

The site does say that TT is measured horizontally, does this mean it is the actual length of the TT or because the TT is sloping the measurement parallel with the ground giving a slightly bigger length?

    Cheers

tt length is measured in a straight level line from top of headtube to seatpost sure you will find its a 54cm have a look at the link.

Yes, the virtual horizontal length is longer than the actual sloping tube.
So you have a 54, providing you're checking to the correct geo specs.
  • P7rider do you have a photo of that bike 'side on?' Would be interested to compare position of tubing etc.
