What short travel FS frame?

Morning all. Am thinking of retiring the trusty Proflex, stripping the Ramones and building a short-ish travel (120mm) FS.
Am looking for a frame from the 'marathon' end of the market - fairly light, moderately racy angles, single pivot etc but not hardcore XC. Something interesting but not exotic or boutique.
Budget is around £1000 - nothing from Spesh, Giant, Trek or Orange and no 29rs please.
Any ideas are welcome
Cheers

2009 commencal super4, would make a great marathon trail bike, and you could easily fit a new Kashima CTD shock in your budget too.
And its green. Green is good!0 -
Thanks that's a nice frame, pretty much what I'm looking for. Sadly only available in S & M from CRC but there may be other retailers will have a look!0

He should get the anthem 29er!0 -
I think you'd be crazy not to go for the Giant anthem. As supersonic says - you can get one for £999.
If not then this may be worth a look?

Although i'd have the Anthem.Constantly trying to upgrade my parts. It is a long road ahead as things are so expensive for little gain. n+1 is always the principle in my mind.0 -
