Had a play on the lower sections of Cwmcarn with Welsh Kev this morning...
Edit took about 20mins, just got my hands on the newest version of Final Cut Pro and have no idea what I'm doing!

Looks cold!! Is that snow or frost by the side of the trail?
Can't wait until 2 week's time!!0 -
Snowy sleet. It snowed the night before and was cold enough to stay on the ground. 3 degrees according to my car temp gauge !
Yeah I can't wait for the uplift now :-)0 -
Yeah wasn't too cold.... I just had my shorts, armour and jersey on lol.
I imagine the higher sections are a bit damper...
Should be a good laugh, hoping to get a full 12 runs in!0 -
If you don't mind me saying, there is something off about the way you go into those bermed corners, looks like (in the one after you go under the bridge) you ose speed rather than gaining it and almost stall out of the exit. Try whipping out right a little on the entry and go for an exagerated lean on the bike, weighting the outside foot - a berm like that should fire you round and toward that next hip.
Just thinking - ignore me if you like!Closet jockey wheel pimp whore.0 -
hehe, I know.. probably because I'm on the brakes haha!
Its a hard berm to gauge, right in the middle is a big slab with the edge pointing straight at you.... I've hit it before and got a pinch flat straight away!
So the choice is either to take it high or low, the slab being on the best line!
Kev definately gets round it better than me, my excuse being that it was 8am and my mind was still in bed
Will get the game face on for next week haha!0 -
I spent the summer riding the bike park here and definitely got better at getting the most out of berms - if you massively exagerate lean and weighting the bike will turn so violently you get fired round the corner, weight the front wheel and I find you can tighten the line more by deweighting the rear and getting the tail to flick round. Get it wrong and things get fun though!
How was Kev doing on his Big Hit?Closet jockey wheel pimp whore.0 -
TBH i'm not a massive fan of the lower DH section, is a bit boring after a while and some of the jumps are too steep in take off and long for them to be fun... Would be great on a DJ bike!
I actually prefer the last bit of the xc, its tighter and faster!
Looking forward to the top and mid sections next weekend, going to stick to the black I think and really push the bike now the shock is set up a bit better.
Thinking of lowering the front end by 1 spacer, not sure it thats the reason why the can't keep the rear end up over jumps, really pissing me off now as it was fine before I changed the front spring and adjusted the rear lol!0 -
Yeah I was a bit bored of it Sunday ( still fun though )
How about sun morning we try and get on the first uplift for a blast?0
