stiff link after fitting chain

i took my chain off to give it a proper clean and refitted it, now the link that i joined it back with is stiff and doesnt move freely anymore causing the chain to jump at the back cog. I don't know what to do and its made my night very frustrating. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

your chain breaker should have a extra plate to push the chain against.
A bit hard to describe, but you need to wind the pin out a bit further and you can put the chain against the next plate that will allow the pin to loosen the link. You only need to turn the pin a small amount.

Waggle it sideways a bit. But I would agree on a missing/quick link.
