'New' BMX - silly newbie questions

I relieved our local landfill of a pretty decent bmx (condition, I don't expect it's a terribly good one).
Anyway,it being 30 years since I last had a BMX, how do I get the front wheel off?
It's got those long pegs on. I suspect I need a really long socket. 15mm?
What about the 360 degree headset and split brake cable thingy? If I want to replace the cables does it all come as a set?

The pegs are screwed on like a nut, so unscrew them....
The Splitter comes as a kit and then you either get that with included cables or buy them seperately!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
the nut could be a few sizes as it depends on the axle size. Pegs are not normally threaded."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
