Can anyone recommend some earphones/headphones... sat here trying to watch some MTB DVD's and listen to music while the mrs is watching failfactor?

Going to go get some tomorrow, got about £40 to spend..

Would prefer something on ear or over ear, not too bulky if possible.

Don't need anything with tooooo much base.. Mainly listen to rock, modern metal, punk etc... no G-Unit gang* crap.

Thanks :)

  • If it's from a shop (i.e. you're not buying online) - the best sennheisers you can afford. Generally can't go wrong. Phillips are pretty good usually too.

Go for a closed back style (plastic over the outside of the headphone) so noise cancelling is better. Easier to drown out outside noises.

Hmm, I don;t know much for that price, but, if you really want something special, save up a bit, and get some Beyer DT250s, they are the best headphones I've ever used - I wouldn't consider using anything else (headphone-wise) for work.

I find most headphones have way too much bass and a tinny and poor treble, and as a result i usually struggle to find headphones i like. Philips, in my experience, have had the best balance of any headphones i've used.
