Broke 2 Bikes this morning

Lovely morning this morning, so I thought I'd take my good bike out for a run with my son.

About 1 mile in.................. flat, b@ll@ks!!!

No problem, change tube............... new valve fails, b@ll@ks!!!!.

No problem, only a mile from home. We can walk back and try agin on my commuting / winter bike.

Having a nice ride, then climbing the only climb of any note on the run................... chain snaps, b@ll@ks!!!!!

Luckily I carry quick links, so it wasn't too long before we were on our way again.

TThe rest of the ride was plesant and un eventful.

Bike one is fixed. Need to get new tyres with better puncture protection.

Having a wee cup of tea just now before going to clean the bikes and put a new chain on my 2nd bike.

No real point to make, I just thought I'd share!

That's why I always carry 2 tubes now, I think I'm over cautious but the thought of being stranded miles from home makes me that way!

I always carry a spare tube and a puncture repair kit - you have to be unlucky to get 2 on the same ride

Remember my first sportive with my bro and friend, we had 6 tubes between us and returned with one spare!!
