Hi all I'm building next years summer bike and now cannot decide on which groupset to use. I like both and there both pretty similar in price but if you were me which would you use and why? By the way I currently have sram force on my summer bike and before I bought the force I had campy chorus on it. So I'm a fan of both brands not like some however I'm stuck on my decision.... Help?

have you got any existing bits that need to interact with them ? frames/wheels? otherwise go for whichever is a bargain ???

  • No I've bought a cervelo r5 frame which I'm building from scratch so I'm not held back by wheels etc. everything will be new for this fame.

you can get a better range of gears with red - but campy is built better.

How? I also notice campy do a b&b right bottom bracket which I assume will fit straight into my frame and get rid of any of the complication bb30 and gpx bottom brackets bring.

yes but only in theory - the SRAM front mech is well known for screwing up - so that less than half the gears an 11 speed campag can offer you!

and to the OP - I can only guess you have never had campag, otherwise you would not have bothered with the post, you would just be riding Campag anyway

  • 2013 red has a brand new front mech, that is supposed to be very good...

To the OP if you plan to keep your current frame then going with SRAM will allow you to switch wheels (and possibly other parts if say you have problems)...
