BMC racemaster slx01 2010?

Hi,

Any feedback on BMC racemaster slx01 2010 as evans are doing at £1249 which looks rather good.

    I think they look the nuts. Apparently can be quite stiff and therefore give quite an unforgiving ride

    Hi guys,

    I've got one. For that money its crazy! The ride is stiff but I only found it 'harsh' once, and that was after a 100 miler with deep carbon wheels on bad roads. So really it could have been any combination of the other factors!

    Always getting compliments on it from others about how good it looks too, nice that its a bit niche to be honest.

    I'd just warn you to look after the seatpost. Its been a common problem that they've seized over time. Absolutely fine if you're buying from Evans as its covered by warranty. Some lithium grease and regular periodic movement should see you through though!

    Jealous. Strongly considering it for my next bike or a knock off venge.

    Is the seatpost a non standard one? Would it be possible to swap it out for another make? One of the only thinks putting me off the slx01 is nearly all the reviews complain about the seatpost moving or creaking.
