When I get my first FS I'll post a pic.......I suppose strictly speaking I had a cheap 'British Eagle' (more like a Turkey!) FS as it came in a pile of bikes/bits when I bought my Kraken, but it didn't stay long!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

My first full suss was a stunning piece of BSO purchased from no other than. ASDA! OH YES, a sarasota trail in black with red rear end, weighed about 40lb haha, i still remember dropping it in at the lbs for a headset, owner had been dealing with an xtr clad beauty and then picked mine up, poor bugger nearly put his back out!
Ended up buying a new frame from him that day and starting my biking obsessionTimmo.

I can't remember what brakes they were but the set up was crap :roll:0 -
I remember that was the 'official' way of getting disc brakes on old Spesh FSRs too...0

Hope disc brakes, later renamed the C2, I believe, when they introduced their "open" evolutionary update.0

Originally available in a Sport' and 'Pro' version with levers to match. Later on all callipers came as 'Pro'0 -
Are you sure they came in two versions? I'm almost certain there was only one kind of brake, and one kind of lever for some length of time.0
-
There was definitely Sport and Pro levers for a while in the late 90s, virtually everyone had the Pro ones though.

They look so agricultural compared to the finely CNC'd ones of today!0 -
^^^^^^^^^^^^^
They certainly look like from from (my ageing deteriorating)memory
Can't remember which lever though :roll:0 -
I'm confused. I know there were two, but I'm still fairly certain that for a while, you could only get the sport c2 - and back when it was the only choice, it had no model name!
Still got an original (Exactly the same as c2 sport) as the rear brake on my spare bike.0 -

My Giant NRS 1, 2004 (I think).
Nice sunny photo, from my old 'back yard' near Fuengirola
Still debating whether to bring it back out of the shed and upgrade it, or to flog it and get a more modern xc FS bike. To be honest, I think it is still capable of my needsStart with a budget, finish with a mortgage!0 -
