Moser "Molly" Speed

Evening all,
Thought I would introduce myself properly and show off my first road bike, as there's not really much written here about it.
Having had 2 arthroscopies on my left knee before the age of 26, whilst I did (and do) enjoy running, the impact meant that my knee is shot to bits. Wanting to keep fit, I went on the hunt for a road bike. Apparently due to some British Sports Day or something, trying to find a suitable bike was actually quite hard; started shopping second hand, but then gave up.
Originally settling for a Felt F85 from Wiggle, after 2 frustrating days after order it wasn't to be. Long story short; credit card blocked payment for security, bike sold elsewhere. Back to square 1, and I eventually plumped for a Moser Speed from Merlin. Note: not the £800+ Moser Speed 105, but a £630 'budget' version:
At home:
And more of what I'm used to:
Really pleased with her so far, slowly investing in bits; lights and turbo are my next priority. Longest ride has been a hilly 20miles, but we'll work on that
Cheers.........R

- Shimano Tiagra groupset
- Deda 80mm stem; was previously 120mm, no more overstretching and shoulder ache
- Deda bar & seatpost
- Total weight: 9.4kg + 9.0st / 57kg rider

Nice one, looks smart! I've a red, black and (mainly) white bike and it's a b*gger to keep clean.
Best now buy yourself a black one (raw carbon ;-) ?) for winter.Weather info: http://www.staydry.me.uk0 -
now then... now then...0

That looks great, especially for that money. The Scott looks like it could be fun too :-)0

After spending what felt like 40 days and nights reading the 'Lights' thread in the MTB section, I took the plunge and bought a pair of Ultrafire XML C8 torches, batteries/charger and mounts...
Can't wait to get them home and strapped on, but on first impressions they appear to be brighter than the sun (if a bit focussed on one spot). Will get some more photos later!

Well, they work! I like the asymmetrical Wall-E look, it's kind of cute. And yes, the wry cable is annoying me, needs neatening up.
So that's 2 torches, 2 18650 batteries and 2 mounts for about £45. Bang on.

I've got a pair of those (excellent) lights but need better mounts. Which ones are those, if you don't mind my asking?0

Here you go pal. There's not a huge amount of movement in diameter, but with a bit of rubber grip wrapped around the torch before you stick it in the mount, it'll hold fast and not vibrate all round the shop.

Thanks. Sorry for the late reply but I didn't get the notification email.0

Having been impatient to get out, I picked up the only clip-in pedals my LBS had; MTB Shimanos did the job but not ideal.
Finally got around to replacing them in the January sales. I debated the Shimano 105s but being über-gay, I wanted them in white...and the 105s aren't made in white, so had to plump for the marginally lesser R540s. No complaints over quality and they do the job! The Moser has a slight metallic finish whereas the pedals are flat; not too different and I'm happy.
Picked up a Lezyne bottle cage while I was at it too. Fashionista question: For a single bottle cage, keep it where it is now, or on the vertical post?
Question now is....what next to upgrade? Rest of the bike is standard.0 -
save up for a summer wheel upgrade and keep the Shim 500's for winter0
