which crankset?

Hi I am looking to take my bike from 3x8 to 1x8 and eventually 1x10

I am looking for a singlespeed crankset for less than £100 which would be compatible with a truvativ powerspline bb, as in the link below

I have had a look around, but the only one I have found is; would this be compatible? Are there better options out there?

    nope.

    what is worng with your current cranks?

    just fit a suitable ring.

    the current cranks are riveted to the chainrings, how come that one wont fit, just so I know for future reference?

    would the cranks work from this:

    any Powerspline fitting one if you are keeping the BB.

    Or get a HT2 Deore crankset and get the BB shell faced by the LBS.

    I was planning on just buying a new powerspline bb as I know this will fit my bike, or can any bb be fitted to any frame?!

    could I get the chainring and cranks in the links above and just buy a different bottom bracket?

    powerspline is only the crank interface. and it still will only fit if you get the correct size for your frame.

    any BB will fit as long as you get the correct size. and then you need the correct type of crank for the BB you get.

    have a read of Park tools to read up on BBs and cranks.
