Hi I am looking to take my bike from 3x8 to 1x8 and eventually 1x10
I am looking for a singlespeed crankset for less than £100 which would be compatible with a truvativ powerspline bb, as in the link below
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=21496
I have had a look around, but the only one I have found is; would this be compatible? Are there better options out there?

Thank you

nope.
what is worng with your current cranks?
just fit a suitable ring."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

the current cranks are riveted to the chainrings, how come that one wont fit, just so I know for future reference?
would the cranks work from this:

if I added this chainring:

no it is not Powerspline fitting."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

are there any you could suggest as I am now completely lost?!0

any Powerspline fitting one if you are keeping the BB.
Or get a HT2 Deore crankset and get the BB shell faced by the LBS."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I was planning on just buying a new powerspline bb as I know this will fit my bike, or can any bb be fitted to any frame?!
could I get the chainring and cranks in the links above and just buy a different bottom bracket?

any BB will fit as long as you get the correct size. and then you need the correct type of crank for the BB you get.
have a read of Park tools to read up on BBs and cranks."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
