Love to know what you all think? Took her out for first spin on Saturday and have to say she has surpassed all expectations; smooth, fast and silent. The SRAM Apex groupset is great as well - cant tell much difference to the Rival on my Roubaix. Very comfortable bike. Loving it! 8)

Great looking bike,looks ready for anything. Bar tape is a nice touch and even the Mudguards really suit it....nice work !

Cheers KonaMike. It was a bit of a spur of the moment thing as I'd never built up a bike before, but saw the frame, forks, headset and brakes for a decent price and figured I'd have a go. I have to say it turned out way better than expected, and no longer have the sound of mud scraping through Crudracers! glad you like it 8)

Lovely bike !! How do you find it compared to the Roubaix? I really fancy one of these for winter communting but ride a Sectuer (same geo as Roubaix) and am a bit worried my back and neck may not cope with it.

Nice build, I got one of these fairly recently to replace to my stolen commuter and find it really comfy, I like the handlebar tape, i've got that on my Lynskey and wondered what it would look like on the Tifosi I might change out the brown tape once it gets grubby.

wishitwasflat: fit seems very similar to the Roubaix to me, very similar geometry with a tall head tube and the effective top tube is only a couple of mm longer. Very impressed with the ride actually, after only a couple of outings so far, but nothing major needs tweaking at this stage.

I've seen your Lynksey on here (probably where I got the idea for the bar tape!) - I'm interested to know what the ride of the Lynksey is like compared with the CK7, as my winter build was only intended as a stopgap while I chose a titanium frame, hopefully to be purchased in the new year. Really like the look of the Lynksey Sportive, but is it really worth the cash?! Very interested in your thoughts....

Honestly the Lynskey is a lovely bike to ride, super comfortable for all day rides, I probably could have done with a different fork to soak up the bumps on the front end a bit better though. If I was to do it all over again though I don't know if go for it again, I think i'd be tempted by one of the VN's, possibly the Mistral or Ventus as you can get the full bike for only a £100 or so more than the price of the Lynskey frame.

ah, but I didn't think you could get the full guards on the Mistral otherwise I would have tried to do the same (hired a Euros on holiday a couple of years ago and it was luvverly). I understand Planet X will be doing their Ti Sportive again in January, so if its a good price that's what I might go for next. However now I have a nice winter bike, perhaps I should swap the Roubaix for a nice weather Ti bike :?

You can't get full mudguards on the Mistral or the Ventus, but my Lynskey is my best bike so it doesn't see the wet anyway, although mudguard eyelets and rack mounts were something I looked for incase I want to do some touring in the future. The Lynskey is a super comfortable frame, it shifts when you put the power down and I've not noticed any frame flex on it and i'm a fairly heavy rider, the finish quality is top drawer with smooth welds and nice details with the clover leaf. I've never seen another Lynskey on the roads so it always draws peoples attention and gets comments from other riders so its nice to some ride something a bit more exclusive! I would definately recommend one but if you don't need mudguard eyelets, rack mounts etc.. there are in my opinion better looking and cheaper titanium frames out there. I'm always drawn to the VN range as I like their finish and they've had a bike in the running for bike of the year for the last couple of years with the Mistral and before that the Chinook. Otherwise the Kinesis Grandfondo looks nice as does the Moda Motif, they had a Moda Motif in my LBS recently and that looked really nice in the flesh.
