The hanger is specific to your frame and has nothing to do with the mech. So the same on as you have now.I don't do smileys.

Are you saying you're hanger is too small for the new mech to fit? You're doing it wrong, they're all the same.0 -
The little circled thing needs to be BEHIND the hooked bit.0 -
Thanks all.warpcow - The little circled thing needs to be BEHIND the hooked bit.
mm did think it was just the cases of buying a 9 speed derailleur.

And provided a reply that was, in this instance, irrelevant.0

But I guess when th OP trashes the current one, he can get a new one, so win/win.I don't do smileys.

Yes the solution to the problem was explained by another poster which I did see, so in that regard my post is as you say 'irrelevant'.
My post was merely a response to:
"Hello what hanger do I need for Shimano XT M772 rear mech to fit my Rockhopper SL."
and
"I'v looked on crc and other sites there so many hangers."
As the OP seemed a bit 'confused' about the different types of derailleur hangers I merely expanded a bit on .....cooldad wrote:The hanger is specific to your frame and has nothing to do with the mech. So the same on as you have now.
I really see no harm in doing this whether it's irrelevant or not and if the OP ever needed to get a replacement derailleur hanger in the future then knowing what model hanger to get will make finding one much easier.
When you put "# 65 derailleur hanger" into google you'll find a multitude of shops selling it.
The NSB version of that hanger is often listed as a hanger for a Specialized Demo bike which could confuse some people.0 -
Perhaps you could have added a 'for info' though, as having read the post you knew he perhaps didn't actually need a new mech hanger?Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
