In my billy-no-mates group of one there are some cool bikes :)

And while I wouldn't for one moment suggest that Cannock is the hub of all things MTB, a top-end MTB is still a rare sight. Go round at any weekend and there are lots of perfectly functional MTBs that didn't cost £1000's. It is after all a bicycle.

I think as enthusiasts we need to take a step back sometimes and have a word with ourselves.

Of the folk I most commonly ride with there's two Top Fuel 9.9s, a Salsa a La Carte ti 29er, Canyon Grand AL 29er, Trek Superfly hardtail, a Santa Cruz Highball, a Giant Anthem Advanced 29er, a Cannondale Flash 29er, S-Works Epic 29er and a Stumpjumper hardtail 29er.

All very much the racey end of things, mainly 29ers, split HT/FS.

When I used to ride in a group we had a variety of bikes kicking around in a variety of flavours. But whatever you are on there is always someone who can kick your arse.
