Lost all spoke tension

Recently purchased some new wheels and have fitted only the rear wheel, I have been checking the spokes after every ride as a friend suggested some might come a little loose after a bit of wearing in. (I'd probably done 3/4 short rides at the most but giving the wheel quite a hammering)
So today I went out for a longer ride and halfway round I felt the back wheel squirming slightly, I checked it out and all the spokes had worked loose, is this severity normal for new wheels?
Is it something I need to take up with the shop it was bought from or is it a case of get them retensioned and I'm good to go? Checked the rim and there doesn't seem to be any wobble in it so I presume I stopped before I caused any damage.
I'm scared to fit the front now incase the same happens.
Any help is much appreciated.

just get them re-tensioned... It can happen, should have the tension checked on new wheel after a few rides.0

Back to where you got them from0

Happened to me a few weeks after I got my new bike, they all went loose after riding the (old) red route at Llandegla forest.
I took it back to the LBS and they retensioned it as a goodwill gesture but implied it was my fault for riding it too much0 -
Shouldn't do that, take/send it back....after all every new bike doesn't need both wheels redoing after a few rides, even BSO's are better than that!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Shouldn't happen.
Probably means the spokes were too loose to start with, ie defective.0 -
