Easton EA90 Hub - slight play

I've a set of Easton Ea90s - they seem fine with the exception of a tiny bit of lateral play in the rear. Not sure what is causing it or even if it's an issue. I can hold the frame and move the wheel just a fraction from side to side.
There is an adjuster - which doesn't seem to impact the play. I've tried tightening it.
The QR is tight. Doing it very tight does not eliminate the play either.
I asked in my LBS who very helpfully said "some wheels are just like that". Well...none that I have owned previously! They're only a couple of months old and have not been hammered at all.
Any thoughts?

Depending on the exact model but if its the one i think it is there is a bearing load adjuster on the none drive side. It is just behind the end cap. It does not want to be overly tight but this should take up any play. Though check your free hub is all the way home first. On My Havoc the end cap came loose. These where threaded on the early ones I don't recall if there still threaded or press fit on the newest ones.0

yeah - I meant the preload adjuster on the non drive side. I can't tighten it much more without the bearings feeling overly squeezed. tightening it doesn't seem to remove the play though.....0

Do the end caps on both side screw on or push on with your wheels? If they screw on check there both tight. The free hub side I have seen come loose on many of the early models. I don't know what system there using on the current models.0

End caps are nice and tight. Checked the preload again and there's a fine margin between having a tony amount of play and having a notchy wheel. I can not get rid of it. so frustrating....0

Send them back. Easton hubs are plagued with play issues.A Flock of Birds

I've emailed CRC from whom I bought them.
It's fractional. If it were an old wheel I probably wouldn't even notice. But the fact it's there...I am wondering, as the bike shop told me "Oh that's normal"....
I can live with it as it is at the moment. But should it get worse, and I have continued to use it....then I won't be happy. I'm wondering if using it will make it worse.0
