VooDoo HooDoo

I went out on my 1st proper mountain bike ride yesterday on my bros spare Giant Rock which was fun but f*cking hard work we did about 15 miles and my arse is shredded! Lol I'm looking at getting in to it properly and possibly go Cannock in the future and I was wondering what peoples thoughts are on the Voodoo Hoodoo as I'll need to get my own bike eventually? Every time I mention Halfords to anyone I get warned off should I avoid them and look at a different bike?
Cheers in advance!

One of the best bikes available for the cash.0

yes as supersonic has said for the money its a amazing bike, a bit of advise for you...
if you are going to buy the bike then i would advise you on making yourself a member of http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/membership
because the very cheapest membership is only 13.50 for a year but with that you get 10% off all bikes at halfords and even if its in the sale.
i know the voodoo at the moment is 475 but with the extra 10% it makes it 427.50 so the extra you save you could buy tools/camelbak/helmet its something to thinnk about if your on a tight budget0 -
People who warn you off using Halfords are morons, without exception.
They offer some of the best value bikes you can buy, and have done so for a good few years. Of course, they do also offer a number of complete abortions which can only be improved with fire..... lots and lots of fire. But bikes like the Hoodoo are definite highlights.0 -
How does the Decathlon Rockrider 8.1 stand up to the spec Of the Voodoo? These seem to be the 2 standout bikes for the price range. The main concern people have raised to me about Halfords is the assembly quality but you are right about high spec you get for the money.0

Again, there are hundreds of Halfords stores all over the UK. Sure, some of them will employ brain dead monkeys in shoes, but it would be wrong to discount them as an option purely based on this.0

Halfords don't assemble bikes, they just take them out the box and stick pedals and wheels on. Something you can do/check yourself in a few minutes.I don't do smileys.
