Bike Registration

Who on here has registered their bike on any sort of registration scheme?
I have seen huge amounts of bikes ( and other items, lawnmowers etc) stored in police stations which they are apparently unable to return to their owners and are either reluctantly returned to the scally they suspect of stealing them, sold in job lots to dealers or auctioned online.
I have registered my bikes and other nickables on immobilise.com
I noticed on vermin's thread regarding his bike theft that he used bike register.
How any other schemes are there? Surely in this arena less is more. I am sure the police are only going to check a limited amount of registers (if any). :(
What advantages does one scheme have over another?
And most importantly of all, did msmancunia have her cereal bowl registered? :?

I think Bike Register is the one favoured by the police. I had my bike marked by them and was told that's checked nationally.
I was surprised to be told if you have a bike stolen and you have the frame number that does not go onto any sort of police database. So, if a bike is stolen in Kingston and found a couple of miles down the road in Surrey juristiction they will not be able to trace it through a reported frame number. So get it registered.

I have, but I'm not very good at applying the marking :(
What do you mean you think 64cm is a big frame?
