Faulty Rockshox Ario RLR Lockout???

Hi All
I have a Scott Spark 40 (2009) with a Rockshox Ario RLR rear shock. I bought the frame with the shock already on 2nd hand and then built the bike up. It was stated that the shock was nearly new. This is my first full suspension bike.
I've just noticed that the lockout/poplock seems to work the wrong way round. You have to push the remote lever forward to unlock (turns blue dial clockwise on shock) and then press the button and release to lockout the shock.
I've noticed that after a while in the unlocked state the suspenion seems to stiffen i.e move more into the lockout state even though the cable is not moving/slipping.
Can I simply unscrew the blue lockout dial and turn it around or do I need to change something inside the shock??
( I will try to attach some photos)

You could try turning it around, but if I recall correctly, this was an oddball rear shock with the function reversed. Not sure if there was a specific poploc for it or not.0
